Make It – Take It
In November Mrs. Maggs and Mrs. Jose Garcia traveled to the
United Nations in New York to attend a conference on eradicating
world poverty. It was part of their on-going effort to bridge
the digital divide in the Philippines through the Joy &
Care Giving Foundation.
Mrs. Maggs spoke about the Make It – Take It Program in Flagler
County and met with Mr. Nick Negropnte who is heading an effort
to provide technology to third world countries by providing
$100 laptops to them.
In December, the Make It – Take It Program hosted a Christmas
Party for some FPCHS students who are participating in the MITI
program. (See photo above) Mrs.Odum and Mr.Djordievski’s ESE
students will attend MITI classes at Matanzas High School and
graduate in April. As they enjoyed the pizza party, each student
also received a helium balloon donated by Palm Coast’s Dollar
Country.
If you would like to help the program by donating a computer
or would like further information, please contact Veronica Maggs,
(386) 931-3995 or email:
maggsv@flaglerschools.com.
Make It- Take It is also looking for adult volunteers to help
with the refurbishing of their computers. If you are interested
in helping please contact Mrs. Maggs.
